HOW WE CUSTOMIZE VALVES IN FAMAT

Description

In many cases, highly specialized valves have been developed from our existing line of industrial proven products to ideally suit each customer’s application. One such case of prime customization work was for an MNC, a leading provider in process systems. Let us show you an example of what we can do for customers with special technical requirements. The specific requirement from the customer was to create a sampling device to work with the equipment already installed in one of their plants. More specifically, we had to customize our sampling valve as to fit with the non-standard outlet on the wall of a reactor.

That needed two major modifications to be carried out on the design of the valve:

  • increasing of the diameter of the nose of the valve
  • increasing of the diameter of the flange connecting the valve to the reactor.

Using our DN50 model type 125A as a base, our engineers designed and created new nose and flange for the valve.
The new nose has a diameter of 106mm and is 125mm long, while the standard nose for a DN50 valve has a diameter of 61mm and is 35mm long.
The new flange is 230mm in diameter, against the usual 125 mm of 125A.
It has also 8 bolt holes (instead of 4) for the perfect match with the existing counter flange.

The nose is centered inside a special recess of the valve’s body and once assembled guarantees the perfect tightness which is the steady feature of Famat’s sampling valves.
