When developing the FAMAT 125S sampling valve, our engineers worked closely with process safety specialists and end users. Together, they evaluated every potential risk using HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) methodologies.

A HAZOP study systematically identifies possible process deviations, such as unintended movements, incorrect connections or operator exposure. It also evaluates the consequences for both the operator and the product.

By applying this structured methodology from the earliest design stages, FAMAT transforms risk analysis into practical mechanical safety features.

Built-in Mechanical Safety

The FAMAT 125S incorporates a mechanical safety interlock that guides every sampling step.

The safety sequence is straightforward:

  • The sampling bottle can only be removed after the piston is fully closed.
  • The piston can only be opened when the sampling bottle is correctly connected to the outlet.

This two-step interlock prevents accidental contact with the process medium while maintaining full containment throughout the sampling operation.

Operators cannot bypass the sequence. As a result, every sampling cycle follows the same safe procedure.
